This MapleStory Classic World Archer guide covers Bowman, the official first-job name used in the current release notes. Become a Bowman at Lv10 by speaking to Athena Pierce in Henesys, then return at Lv30 to choose Hunter or Crossbowman. The current Founder's Access character cap is Lv100, with first and second job advancement documented in the saved sources. Exact Archer builds, skill priorities, and Hunter-versus-Crossbowman rankings remain Pending confirmation (待确认) without current evidence.
01
Archer and Bowman mean the same search destination here
Players searching for an Archer guide should look for Bowman in Nexon's official job list. This guide uses Archer to answer that query and Bowman when naming the confirmed starting job. The distinction does not create a separate Archer class or an alternative instructor.
Bowman is one of four starting jobs alongside Warrior, Magician, and Thief. Every new character initially appears as a Beginner on Maple Island, before traveling to Victoria Island to select a job. That early stage introduces monsters, quests, and the basic controls before the Henesys advancement milestone.
02
First advancement with Athena Pierce at Lv10
At Lv10, speak to Athena Pierce in Henesys for your first advancement. The town and NPC are both confirmed in the Founder's Access release notes. Their inclusion gives you the correct destination, but it does not provide an exact map position or a travel route from every starting location.
Follow the advancement information shown by your current client. Pending confirmation (待确认): a complete dialogue sequence, any advancement tests, and additional attribute requirements are not supplied by the official summary. A guide written for another classic server needs current verification before its requirements become instructions for this Bowman.
| Bowman milestone | Confirmed detail |
|---|---|
| Official starting job | Bowman; Archer is the searched term |
| First advancement | Lv10, Athena Pierce in Henesys |
| Second advancement | Lv30, speak to Athena Pierce again |
| Available second jobs | Hunter, Crossbowman |
| Current character cap | Lv100 |
03
Hunter or Crossbowman at Lv30
Return to Athena Pierce at Lv30 to choose a specialized path. Hunter and Crossbowman are the two second jobs explicitly listed in the current notes. The overview says second advancement adds new skills, but does not reproduce the complete current skill descriptions for either option.
Those names confirm availability, not a damage hierarchy or a best training route. There is no tested Hunter-versus-Crossbowman comparison in the official material used here. Review the descriptions presented in the client and relate them to the activities you intend to play before making the branch choice.
Pending confirmation (待确认): branch switching, point preservation, and any cost for changing a second job. The saved sources do not document a respecialization system. Do not make the choice on the assumption that an unverified free reset will be available later.
04
Current Archer builds and class changes
Classic World combines an early MapleStory setting with balance adjustments and gameplay improvements, as described on the official game page. That broad description does not identify a particular Bowman skill change or establish a numerical build. Familiar branch names cannot prove that the AP/SP rules from a different release still apply.
Pending confirmation (待确认): Bowman AP distribution, first-job SP order, Hunter and Crossbowman skill values, equipment requirements, reset rules, and damage rankings. Reliable recommendations need current skill information and testing for the intended activity. This page therefore confirms how to reach each job without assigning points or claiming one branch is universally strongest.
05
Henesys citizenship is another milestone
At Lv12, citizenship becomes available, including the Henesys path through Arthur in Henesys Town Hall. This is a different contact from Athena Pierce and a different progression system from your job advancement. Completing the Bowman advancement is not described as automatically making you a Henesys citizen.
Community Board requests let residents earn Contribution toward their citizenship grade. The published perks include local specialty items and discounts on cab travel, Storage Keeper services, and some general store goods. The same current overview also lists Kerning City citizenship through Roxy in Kerning City Civic Center.
The official description does not impose a Bowman-only citizenship requirement or recommend a town for Hunter or Crossbowman. It also does not state the discount amounts or identify a best local item for an Archer build. Pending confirmation (待确认): those economic comparisons need current shop and citizenship evidence.
06
Crafting choices at Lv10
Crafting opens at Lv10, alongside first-job advancement eligibility. Crafting NPCs let you inspect available items and their required materials, and continued crafting develops skills that lead to further recipes. The current system is confirmed, but the release overview does not list a complete Bowman recipe route.
The published professions are Smithing, Weaponcrafting, Tailoring, Woodcrafting, Leatherworking, and Arcforge. The profession names alone do not establish which one an Archer should choose or what it can produce for your branch. Pending confirmation (待确认): profession recommendations, specific equipment recipes, material quantities, and crafting costs need item-level sources.
07
Party quests and available bosses
At Lv21, characters can participate in First Time Together, the Kerning City Party Quest. Its official description includes solving puzzles, fighting monsters, and facing King Slime as a party. This provides a confirmed cooperative option before the Lv30 Hunter or Crossbowman choice.
No Bowman-specific entry condition or mandatory party composition is published in the current overview. The five listed challenge bosses are Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom, and Jr. Balrog. Pending confirmation (待确认): an Archer solo-clear level, boss damage requirement, or recommended branch is not established by that availability list.
08
Controls and language options
The current default layouts are Classic Style and Modern Style, with WASD movement available in Modern Style. Controller play requires enabling Controller Support in Game Options, where the option is off by default. The official FAQ lists DualSense, DualShock, and Xbox controllers, connected through USB or Bluetooth.
These options let you choose an input method while learning Bowman, but they do not prove that one setup delivers better damage. English is supported and Spanish is currently in beta. You can change language at the main login screen or in Game Options, then relaunch the game to apply the change.
09
Cosmetic weapon appearances are separate from equipment
The Founder's Package contents are described as cosmetic, without stats or gameplay bonuses. The package outfits can be equipped by any job or gender, and there are no weapon restrictions on those appearance items. Their names and looks therefore do not establish a Hunter or Crossbowman equipment requirement or an Archer damage upgrade.
10
Current scope and later-job questions
This guide follows the official Founder's Access material checked on October 7, 2026. Confirmed Bowman progression covers the Lv10 and Lv30 advancements and the Lv100 character cap. The official Ossyria Exploration Report explicitly excludes third job advancement, Orbis, and El Nath from both Founder's Access and initial Grand Launch.
Nexon plans to rework that content and introduce it later, without supplying release dates. Pending confirmation (待确认): the future third-job release date, plus fourth-job availability and timing. The April 2026 Closed Online Test used a separate environment, so its progress, event rewards, and test-only channel rules do not establish current Bowman instructions.
