MapleStory Classic World crafting becomes available to characters at Lv. 10 and above. Visit a crafting NPC to see the items you can make and the materials each item requires. Nexon confirms six crafting professions and says continued crafting develops your skills and unlocks more recipes. As of October 7, 2026, the official overview supports those starting details, while a complete recipe database and numerical progression tables remain Pending confirmation (待确认).
01
What crafting does in the current version
The Founder's Access release notes describe crafting as a new Classic World system. Its purpose is to turn materials collected during your adventure into items that can help you. The announced starting action is to visit a crafting NPC, rather than enter a redemption code or claim a cosmetic package. This gives you a confirmed place to inspect crafting choices without assuming a recipe from another MapleStory version exists here.
The first character-level requirement is Lv. 10, but the notes separately describe developing crafting skills. Those are two different pieces of information: the character level opens the system, and crafting activity develops its own skills. The overview does not state that simply gaining more character levels reveals every recipe. Read the recipes available to your character as current options, rather than treating the level gate as a complete progression chart.
02
The six confirmed NPC and profession pairings
Each profession has a named contact in the current introduction. The table preserves the English names shown in Nexon's notes so you can recognize both the service and the NPC. These pairings are confirmed even though the article does not give street directions or a complete list of the items each profession produces. A profession name alone is not enough evidence to assign a specific weapon, armor piece, or material to its recipe catalog.
| Profession | Confirmed crafting NPC |
|---|---|
| Smithing | Silas Irons |
| Weaponcrafting | Mr. Thunder |
| Tailoring | Francois |
| Woodcrafting | Vicious |
| Leatherworking | JM From tha Streetz |
| Arcforge | Chrishrama |
This list identifies six announced services, not six mandatory steps for every character. The release notes do not explain whether you must choose one profession, may develop several, or need an additional unlock conversation. Those rules remain Pending confirmation (待确认), along with exact NPC locations beyond the named contacts. When comparing the table with your client, match the NPC and profession together instead of inferring a selection limit from the number of names.
03
Read a recipe as an item and a material requirement
Nexon's confirmed interface description contains two useful pieces: an item you can craft and the materials it needs. Begin by identifying the result, then compare its displayed material requirements with what your character holds. This follows the documented relationship between collected resources and crafted items without adding a universal shopping list. The relevant quantities are the ones attached to the selected recipe, since the official overview supplies no common quantity for all crafting.
Choosing a result first also gives material collection a defined purpose. If your goal is one displayed item, its recipe is a more direct reference than an unverified list of resources to keep for every profession. Check that the recipe is available to your character before interpreting a material's presence as proof that you can already make the item. This is a way to read the confirmed crafting screen, rather than a claim that every recipe has the same eligibility rules.
A recipe's existence and a material's source are separate questions. The release notes confirm that you collect materials, but they do not identify exact monster drops, resource maps, or drop rates. Farming locations, recipe quantities, and crafting charges remain Pending confirmation (待确认) unless established by the current client or another current source. A familiar item name from historical MapleStory therefore cannot supply the missing numbers in this version.
04
How crafting progression is described
Continued crafting develops crafting skills and gives access to more recipes. That establishes a progression loop: inspect what is available, craft through the system, and inspect the available recipes again as skills develop. It does not establish a particular experience award for an item or a guaranteed number of crafts to reach the next recipe. Any claim about the fastest recipe sequence would need those missing values and a verified comparison of material requirements.
The current maximum character level is Lv. 100, but that is a character cap. Nexon does not identify Lv. 100 as a crafting skill cap or list crafting ranks in the current notes. Character progression and crafting progression should therefore be read from their own stated rules. Skill thresholds, maximum crafting ranks, success probabilities, and the effect of repeating one recipe are Pending confirmation (待确认).
05
Where crafting fits into your first adventure
Your character begins on Maple Island before continuing to Victoria Island, where the four starting jobs are chosen. First job advancement also occurs at Lv. 10, so crafting becomes relevant at the same announced character milestone. Citizenship opens at Lv. 12, and the Kerning City Party Quest opens at Lv. 21. These level gates describe available systems without proving that one must be completed before another.
Citizenship requests earn Contribution toward a Citizenship grade, while crafting develops crafting skills. The release notes describe both systems but do not state that every citizenship request uses a crafted item. If a current request names an item, read that request and the available recipe before connecting the two activities. A guaranteed crafting-to-citizenship route or a shared progression currency remains Pending confirmation (待确认).
06
Distinguish crafted items from package cosmetics
The official package page says all Founder's Package items are cosmetic and provide no stats or gameplay bonuses. Names such as Founder’s Thief Dagger or Manji's Blade appear in outfit sets, which does not turn those package items into verified crafting recipes. The package page also says these outfits can be equipped regardless of job or gender, with no weapon restrictions. Those cosmetic rules should not be transferred to the requirements of an item shown by a crafting NPC.
Packages arrive automatically through the game's mailbox and do not require manual coupon redemption for delivery. Their mailbox deadline and opening duration concern purchased rewards, while crafting begins with a profession NPC and collected materials. The official FAQ also distinguishes NX, Leaf Points, and Maple Points across the two games. It does not identify any of those Cash currencies as a universal crafting cost, so a required currency or fixed price for crafting is Pending confirmation (待确认).
07
Use the current recipe list as the version boundary
Classic World is described as early MapleStory with gameplay improvements, balance adjustments, and quality of life changes. Crafting is specifically presented as a new system, making historical recipe lists especially weak evidence for its current rules. Founder’s Access progress will carry into Grand Launch on October 21, so current activity belongs to continuing character progression. That persistence does not guarantee that every future recipe or region is already available on October 7.
Forgotten Hollow is unavailable during Founder's Access and planned for a later addition. A recipe plan that requires materials from that region therefore needs evidence that those materials have a currently available source. The opening date, material distribution, and any later expansion of crafting remain Pending confirmation (待确认). For now, the confirmed guide is the Lv. 10 requirement, the six NPC pairings, the displayed item-and-material interface, and recipe access that expands through crafting activity.
