Compare access before comparing cosmetics
The biggest timing difference is whether a tier includes the phase already underway. Nexon says Orange Mushroom and Zakum owners can play through Nexon Launcher or Steam without a beta key. Snail purchasers can enter when Classic World officially launches on October 21. Founder's Access belongs to the account that purchased the eligible package and cannot be transferred to another account.

All items in the Founder packages are described as purely cosmetic. Nexon says they provide no stats, bonuses, or enhancement to character gameplay. The outfit items can be equipped regardless of character gender or job, with no weapon restrictions. Founder's Access is the separate entry benefit included in the two higher tiers, rather than an item that improves combat statistics.

What Snail includes
Snail contains Mark of the Founder (Tan), Glimmer of the Founder, and Jr. Balrog Invasion x50, a consumable transformation item with a 90-day duration. It also contains the Well-Loved Outfit Set. The set lists a Frozen Tuna, Brown Bamboo Hat, Pan Lid, White & Blue Sandals, Blue Sauna Robe, and Work Gloves under the Well-Loved names. Snail's item bundle does not include Founder's Access, even though it is a Founder package.
The official package page says these contents are only available in MapleStory Classic World. They are not a reward bundle for the separate MapleStory game on the same account. Founder packages also cannot be gifted according to the saved package FAQ. Those limitations are separate from the rules for moving eligible outfit items between your own Classic World characters after opening their boxes.

What Orange Mushroom adds
Orange Mushroom includes the Snail contents and Founder's Access from October 6, 2026. It adds Mark of the Founder (Brown), Glow of the Founder, and the Founder's Thief Outfit Set. The listed set contains a hat, outfit, boots, dagger, face, and gloves bearing the Founder's Thief names. Its themed name does not restrict the set to the Thief job because Nexon says the outfit sets have no job restrictions.

What Zakum adds
Zakum includes the contents of Snail and Orange Mushroom, along with their stated access benefit. It adds Mark of the Founder (Black), Radiance of the Founder, Manji's Outfit Set, and the Founder's Chat and Label Rings. Manji's set lists Manji's Bamboo Hat, Manji's Clothes, Reticent Steps, Manji's Blade, and Silent Sea of Clouds. The package name is a cosmetic product name and does not confirm that Zakum is an available boss in the current game version.
The October 6 release notes list the current bosses as Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom, and Jr. Balrog. They do not use the Zakum package as evidence of a Zakum boss encounter. This distinction matters when comparing an access product with gameplay content. Pending confirmation (待确认): the saved current notes do not provide a date for adding Zakum as a boss.

Nexon store and Steam purchase rules
The current FAQ says Steam offers only Zakum, while Nexon's website offers the three tiers. Nexon explains that Steam does not support package upgrades in the same way as its own store. Offering only the most complete tier is intended to avoid unintended duplicate purchases. The package website says the Zakum package has the same items and Founder's Access on both stores.
The site also states that Zakum can be purchased once per account on each platform: once through Nexon's website and once through Steam. It immediately clarifies that one purchase grants all items and Founder's Access. Buying once on each store is therefore not an access requirement. A Steam Zakum purchaser can play through either Steam or Nexon Launcher according to the current official FAQ.

How supported upgrades work
If you bought Snail or Orange Mushroom through the Nexon website, you can upgrade to a higher tier during the sales period. Nexon says the upgrade costs the price difference and delivers only the additional items, without duplicating items already claimed. Sign in to the official package page to see your purchased tier and the UPGRADE option. Packages cannot be downgraded once purchased, and upgrades are not available on Steam.
An Orange Mushroom owner upgrading to Zakum after Founder's Access begins receives the added Zakum items after the purchase is confirmed and on the next login. Upgrades are available until October 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM PDT, when the package sale ends. That is October 15 at 06:59 UTC. Pending confirmation (待确认): this guide has no fresh checkout verification of prices, regional totals, or payment availability beyond the October 7 saved evidence.

Mailbox delivery and opening deadlines
Nexon says package items are delivered automatically on your first Classic World login, with no manual coupon redemption needed. Claim them from the in-game mailbox before November 30, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. You must leave Maple Island before opening the Founder package. Once you claim it from the mailbox, you have 30 days to open it.
Outfit sets come in boxes with a 30-day duration that are tradable within the account. Opening a box produces permanent, untradable outfit items that can move to other characters on the same account and within the same world through the Cash Inventory. The transformation item has its own stated 90-day duration. These rules describe different stages of the rewards, so a permanent outfit item does not remove its unopened box or mailbox deadline.

Progress carryover and regional availability
The official package page confirms that Founder's Access progress carries over when the game officially launches. Grand Launch remains scheduled for October 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM PDT, equivalent to 18:00 UTC in the current FAQ. This carryover promise concerns the current access phase, not character data from earlier closed tests. Package items also remain specific to Classic World rather than transferring into modern MapleStory.
The saved package page says availability covers most regions that can play MapleStory. An unsupported purchase region receives a Not Available in Your Region notice before checkout, and Nexon directs disputed cases to Player Support.
